JAWBREAKER, the sophomore album from Sam Quealy, takes its name from the iconic candy—bold, addictive, and gloriously chaotic, much like her sound. Evolving from her 2023 debut Blonde Venus, the Paris-based singer and songwriter infuses her anarchic dance-pop with luminous disco elements, lush grooves, and hyper-feminine flair. The result is a dazzling fusion of sensitivity and subversion that cements Quealy as a shapeshifting visionary.

Created with longtime collaborator Marlon Magnée of La Femme, JAWBREAKER blends live instrumentation with rich electronic textures, channelling themes of lust, longing, and self-celebration. “With the first album, I was experimenting,” Quealy says. “This one still feels raw and rebellious, but there’s also lightness and joy—I wanted to make something that makes people feel good.”

Lead single “LONDONTOWN” captures that spirit with a frenzied, euphoric sense of escape, while “LOVE LASSO” dives into the pull of toxic love, and “GIRLS NIGHT” revels in glam-rock fantasy and character play. The dreamy “BY MY SIDE” closes the record with a heartfelt duet and soaring guitar solo.

A trained dancer and lifelong performer, Quealy brings her vision to life through striking visuals and frenetic choreography, merging music, fashion, and performance art. Known for her “dystopian club bangers” (Office Magazine), she now readies for a high-voltage tour celebrating unapologetic self-expression. “When I’m onstage, I’m possessed,” Quealy says. “It’s pure energy—me, my dancers, and the audience all existing as our truest, most fearless selves.”
