There’s no debating that Clavish is the UK’s breakthrough rap artist of the year.

Between his outstanding Rap Game Awful mixtape being confirmed by Music Week as the biggest UK debut breakthrough of the year so far, and his second D-Block Europe collaboration ‘Pakistan’ debuting in the top 10 on the UK Official Singles Chart, the North Londoner has proven his ability to do mainstream numbers while staying authentic to the roots of rap culture.

Following on from his sold-out UK headline tour earlier this year, which included two-nights in London and Clash hailing him the “future of UK rap”. Clavish recently made his Wireless debut, appearing twice on the main stage, initially for his own set and again to jump on D-Block Europe’s headline set to perform ‘Pakistan’ and their previous top 10 team-up ‘Rocket Science’. Clavish is set to continue shutting down live shows across Europe this summer, and is preparing to headline the BBC Radio 1Xtra stage at Reading & Leeds festival.

Since bursting onto the scene in 2017 with his viral freestyle ‘Spin Out His Skull’, Clavish has been showcasing an idiosyncratic flow and natural cadence that has potential to cement him as a major player on a global scale. Clavish capitalised on the buzz he created with his debut freestyle by reworking the track for a GRM Daily premiere, renamed ‘All These Funds’, racking up 3 million views.

Having set himself apart from his peers with the release of his 2022 EP – which had no features – Clavish continued to feed his burgeoning fanbase with a run of singles including ’Sold Out Dates’, ‘No Interview’ and ‘Greece’; which contributed towards him gaining over 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify.

In 2023, Clavish released his highly anticipated debut-mixtape Rap Game Awful, which debuted at #4 on the Official Album Charts and featured the celebrated singles ‘Rocket Science’ featuring D-Block Europe, ‘No Difference’, ‘2023 Freestyle’ and ‘Traumatised’.

Coming complete with a star-studded line-up of features from Fredo, Rimzee, Youngs Teflon, Teeway, Kaash Paige and many more, the arrival of Rap Game Awful signalled a timely evolution of sound for Clavish, and despite dropping at the beginning of the year, remains in conversations about the year’s best releases.

As well as being selected as YouTube Music’s inaugural UK Artist On The Rise for 2023, Clavish has been cited by Vogue as one of “9 Musicians Set To Take Over in 2023”, and by The Guardian who praised him as a “genuinely skilled and original voice.”
