Man Like Me performed at London’s Nice N Sleazy’s in 2012. The band are comprised of Johnny Langer and Peter Duffy. The Camden Town duo have wowed crowds from Glastonbury to Secret Garden Party, LA to Cape Town, and Barcelona to Bude.
Sharing a penchant for Eastern Europeans, North London boozers and old skool garage, the ‘carnivalesque kings’ (Dazed Digital) have dominated discerning dancefloors with the likes of London Town, Single Dad, Carny and Lovestruck, proving again and again why they’re the ‘best damn live act in the UK’ (Loud & Quiet).
So loved was their take on Jona Lewie's 1980 track ‘You’ll Always Find Me in the Kitchen At Parties’ that they were given their very own prime time TV advert, setting hearts and feet on fire and guaranteeing the boys a few flatpack freebies.
Describing themselves as ‘being like a slow cooked tagine’, the ever-eloquent duo hint at their tasty catalogue of floor filling bangers, their vast medley of sonic flavours, and their steady trumpeting to perky pop-techno stardom. It has to be said, though, that there’s not much meat on Johnny.
The electro/grime sex anthem Squeeze dropped in May, followed by an new mix of London Town VIP in August, and the album Pillow Talk mixed and co-produced by Mike Skinner is due in early 2013. Catch Man Like Me on a dance floor near you soon.
"Completely amazing... It bounds along like an overexcited toddler, all vibrant beats, cheap synths and strange sounds that appear out of nowhere... It's a riot and if it doesn't make you smile then you're probably dead." – The Guardian
