The continued ascension of Lewis Watson has received some major boosts since the summer 2013. Not only did he play two packed sets at his debut Glastonbury appearance, but his current EP ‘Four More Songs’ hit the Top 10 at iTunes – his fourth consecutive EP to achieve that feat. Its success has also spread to Australia where the EP debuted at #1 on the iTunes singer-songwriter charts.
Now in addition to his previously announced show at London’s Koko – which is more the double the capacity of his previous largest show in the capital – Lewis now plays in Cardiff during his UK tour.
‘Four More Songs’ represents Lewis Watson’s most upbeat release to date and finds him pushing his songwriting to develop a bigger sound with more intricate and eclectic elements added to the production. The lead track ‘Calling’ was named as Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record in the World and was playlisted by Radio 1’s In New Music We Trust and by XFM (daytime playlist). The EP has since received further exposure courtesy of a stunning animated video for Lewis’s demo version of ‘Close’ which can be seen below.
