Global superstar Kanye West made a much anticipated return to the UK in the spring of 2013 as he took to London’s Eventim Apollo three times. The gig saw Kanye West fans treated to his vast back catalogue of hits, taken from his five platinum selling albums, including tracks “Gold Digger”, “Jesus Walks”, “Touch the Sky”, “Stronger”, “Heartless”, “Love Lockdown” and “Niggas in Paris”.
Kanye West’s debut album “The College Dropout” released in 2004 catapulted the rapper into the limelight selling 2.6 million copies and earning him a “Best Rap Album” Grammy award. He equalled that success with his follow up albums “Late Registration” (2005) and “Graduation” (2007) while his albums “808s & Heartbreak” (2008) and “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” (2010) continued his reign and topped the US billboard charts.
Kanye again pushed the envelope at the 30th anniversary 2013 MTV VMAs, with his visually stunning, silhouetted performance of “Blood On The Leaves,” from YEEZUS. The performance made VMA history, marking Kanye’s seventh showcase at the awards spectacular, tying him with Madonna as the two artists with the most number of VMA performances. Kanye West has delivered some of the most visually stunning and memorable - and controversial – performances.
