Jamie N Commons played The Prince Albert in Brighton 2012. Born in the U.K and raised in Chicago, this 22 year old singer is currently based in deep south London. His musical tastes lie with Blues, Gospel, Swamp Rock and Big Band, his favourite album is Duane Allman – An Anthology (Capricorn).
Jamie's first offering, The Baron EP, takes sonic reference from a wide range of Jamie’s influences, attempting the sparse, bare desolation of the Rick Rubin produced Johnny Cash “American Series”, the ambient sounds and arrangements of Talk Talk’s “Spirit of Eden”, and the fire and brimstone stomp of later period Tom Waits to name but a few. The E.P. attempts to capture the perfect imperfection of the performances and to convey the haunting, violent and arresting sound this young man is creating.
