Cymbals Eat Guitars

An indie rock band from Staten Island, Cymbals Eat Guitars has already toured with the likes of The Pains of Being Pure at Heart and The Flaming Lips. The band was formed in 2007 by high school mates Harvey Pannell and Matthew Miller, taking their name from a Lou Reed quote describing the sound of the Velvet Underground.

The band first gained buzz in 2009 when their self-released debut album ‘Why There Are Mountain’s was included in Pitchfork's "Best New Music". In March of 2011, Cymbals Eat Guitars signed with Barsuk Records to produce their second album ‘Lenses Alien’ which was released on August 30, 2011.

Support for their performance at The Garage in 2012 came from the widescreen indie-rock of Milagres, New York 5-piece signed to Kill Rock Stars.
